Heart Evangelista on getting invited to fashion weeks: 'I really went through the hard route'

Heart Evangelista recalled how she started getting invited to fashion weeks.

In her latest vlog titled "Back in Milan: Fashion Week, Reels, Drama, and more," the Global Fashion Icon said she initially entered fashion weeks out of passion and love for fashion and creativity.

"I entered fashion week, and it wasn't a job," she said. "It was passion."

At the beginning of her fashion career, Heart said she started attending runway shows as a member of the press.

"I really went through the hard route," she said.

"Fashion week, for me, is a passion," she added. "Basically, I feel guilty for taking the seat that was allotted for somebody else like the press."

Eventually, when Heart slowly established her fashion portfolio, she worked her way into building relationships with brands to introduce herself as a key opinion leader or an influencer.

"I truly want [the brands] to know who I am, and I don't want to take anybody's seat," she said. "This is the golden rule."

"I don't mind being second or third [choice], as long as I'm invited as myself and I have a good relationship with the brand," she added.

Earlier this month, Heart's content on Paris Fashion Week was again alleged to be sabotaged by a group of people, to which Heart responded with, "Hayaan na."

In October last year, Heart opened up about "dirty tactics" as her online content had allegedly been on a "shadow ban." She also spoke about "black propaganda" that was used against her.

After Paris Fashion Week in the same month, Heart claimed that the shadow ban on her content was over.

In January, a TikTok executive told GMA News Online that there was no such thing as a shadow ban.
