R'Bonney Gabriel elevates her red blazer with piña fabric from the Philippines
Before she headed to El Salvador for the upcoming Miss Universe coronation, R'Bonney Gabriel took out her remarkable designing skills anew for another upcycled piece!
On Instagram, reigning Miss Universe first shared a video of herself sewing a swath of piña fabric from the Philippines onto a regular red blazer to create a striking piece of sustainable fashion.
R'Bonney would later share snaps of herself rocking the final output: an upcycled blazer elevated using the piña fabric!
She matched her new creation with her bold, red lipstick and a pair of red leather pants.
The R'Bonney wore the outfit during her surprise appearance at a meet-and-greet event with this year’s Miss Universe delegates.
R’bonney flew to this year’s host country on Tuesday and amused netizens with the balikbayan boxes that joined her luggage.
The sustainable fashion designer was crowned Miss Universe 2022 in January and is the first Filipino-American queen to hold the title.
Like highlighting the piña fabric on her upcycled blazer, R’bonney's heritage constantly made it to her Instagram feed and her Miss Universe reign.
When she visited the Philippines last May as the special guest for the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night, R'Bonney also made sure to reunite with her Filipino family and visit her dad’s home street in Malate.
The Miss Universe 2023 coronation night is happening on November 18, with Michelle Dee as the Philippines’ representative.
