Barbie Forteza’s outfit on ‘Fast Talk’ was upcycled from a ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ costume


Barbie Forteza looked so fresh on Tuesday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

The Kapuso Primetime Princess wore a two-piece all-black outfit comprised of a crop top and frilly skirt. It's beautiful as it is but there's a special story behind the look too.

On Instagram Stories, Barbie’s stylist, Jan Raroque shared Barbie's outfit was actually upcycled from one of Klay's costumes in the historical drama "Maria Clara at Ibarra."

“Fun fact: the dress we wore on ‘Fast Talk’ today was upcycled from Klay’s look on ‘MCI,” Jan said as he posted a photo of Barbie dressed a Klay in a classic baro’t saya composed of a Filipiniana top with pina fabric and a black skirt.

On Instagram, Sparkle posted Barbie's photos and said "Our real life Barbie is also a queen of sustainable fashion."

"The two-piece outfit was actually upcycled from Barbie's famous Maria Clara at Ibarra costume!" Sparkle added.  

In the interview, Barbie admitted to wanting to win acting awards, gave a fun answered when asked to choose between Jak Roberto and David Licauco's pandesal, and promoted her upcoming series "Maging Sino Ka Man."

In the special limited series, Barbie will give life Monique, originally played by Sharon Cuneta. David Licauco, meanwhile, will play Carding, a character originally played by Robin Padilla.

BarDa became a famous love team after starring as Fidel and Klay in the historical portal fantasy series "Maria Clara at Ibarra," now streaming on Netflix.

Last May, Barbie and David flew to South Korea to shoot their film "That Kind of Love."

"Maging Sino Ka Man" premieres on Monday, September 11, at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras."
