Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel makes a public appearance in a top she made using recycled fabric
None other than Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel is reminding us that maybe we should've taken the sewing lessons from Home Economics classes a little bit more seriously.
Because look: That fabulous white top she wore at an engagement in Bangkok? She made that — using recycled fabric at that!
In a recent Instagram reel that's practically a demo, the Fil-Am beauty queen said she "picked up this recycled pleated fabric from Fab Scrap to make a top for my Thailand trip" as she showed cutting and measuring the fabric, creating lovely rosettes and then modeling her finished product.
The official Miss Universe account then posted photos and videos of R'Bonney giving a talk at Bangkok University's Passion and Sustainable Fashion Design workshop, wearing the top she had just created.
Crafty or what?
As we all know by now, R'Bonney is a sustainable fashion designer who runs the independent fashion label R'Bonney Nola.
Previously, she shared a TikTok video of herself in a moving car, sewing back the button that unexpectedly fell off her baby blue blazer.
We are so impressed — and also inspired. Time to give sewing another shot! — LA, GMA Integrated News
