Mela Habijan joins supermodel Coco Rocha's model camp in New York

Mela Habijan has just fulfilled one of her dreams: to be mentored by supermodel Coco Rocha in modeling.

In a Twitter post on Monday, the Miss Trans Global 2020 shared a short clip of her strutting skills in one of Coco's modeling workshop sessions in New York City.

"PILIPINAS, WE BETTA WERQ IT AT COCO ROCHA MODEL CAMP!" Mela wrote.

"Because it's not [every day] that we get the chance to be mentored by the Queen Of Pose herself, [Coco Rocha]!" she added with a pink heart, Philippine flag, and transgender flag emojis.

On Instagram previously, she posted snaps from the airport saying she was on her way to New York.

"I am excited to finally meet Coco Rocha and personally learn from her — a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I wouldn’t miss," she wrote tagging the supermodel.

"Who knows where this experience would bring me? Maybe, it could open huge opportunities in the global fashion and modeling industry? Maybe it could lead to more platforms to be visible and represent?" She added.

In 2020, Mela was crowned the first-ever Miss Trans Global, bagging several special awards in the pageant including Eloquent Queen of the Year, Super Model of the Year, and Glam Beauty of the Year.

Prior to her title, Mela starred in GMA shows "The Better Woman" and "Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko."
