Dolly De Leon shares how she chose the all-black leather fit for Golden Globes
Dolly De Leon looked very much a star in her black leather fit for the recently concluded 80th Golden Globe Awards.
At Wednesday's press conference in UP Diliman, Dolly said that piece really was her preference for the event—even though a few expressed not liking it.
"At my age, hindi na ako doon sa part na pwede akong i-control ng mga tao kung anong suotin ko so what you saw sa Golden Globes, that was really my choice," she said. "I loved it."
"May mga iba na 'di nila type. Okay lang. For me, gano'n talaga ang world. You can't please everybody. If I wear something that everybody will like, may problema do'n."
According to the "Triangle of Sadness" star, she is very hands-on with all her looks. She works with her stylist LJ Perez who helps keep her preferences together.
"Sinasabi ko sa kanya kung ano 'yung mga ayaw kong suotin, mga colors na ayaw kong suotin, then we also talked about kung ano 'yung mga elements that influence me—fire, air, water ba?"
"After that, tsaka siya mamimili and then papakitaan niya ako ng iba-iba and then sasabihin ko kung gusto ko 'to or ito, hindi ko 'to gusto. It's really like that."
Dolly was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture at the Golden Globes. The award was given to Angela Bassett.
As for the upcoming BAFTA Film Awards, where she was also nominated Best Supporting Actress, Dolly said there's nothing set in stone yet for her outfit.
"I don't know yet what I'm wearing," she said. "I really have to wear the dress to know. Hindi ko siya ma imagine anong itsura ko until suot ko talaga so I don't know yet."
Apart from the Golden Globes and the BAFTA recognitions, Dolly was also recently named Los Angeles Critics Awards Best Supporting Actress.
