Alex Eala lands on the cover of Vogue Philippines
Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala just landed on the cover of Vogue Philippines' November issue.
On Instagram, Saturday, the 17-year-old athlete shared photos she took for the magazine.
Alex, currently ranked no. 248 in the WTA, looked every inch stylish in Fumito Ganryu sweaters and JW Anderson dresses.
"I have no words! I never thought I would see myself on the cover of Vogue," she said. "Thank you so much @voguephilippines for this incredible opportunity!"
Vogue Philippines also shared the cover on Instagram, along with an excerpt from Alex's interview talking about her speech in Tagalog after winning the US Open Juniors title.
"I think it's nice na may representation 'yung Pilipinas sa world tennis stage," she said. "Whether that's through a language or whether that's through hitsura, whatever, pagkain, I think a big part of representation is makaka-relate sila."
"And that was just a little way that I can give back to them for all the support they have been giving me."
Alex is currently competing at the W80 Poitiers tournament in France, where she has advanced to the semifinals.
She previously won the juniors doubles title in the French Open last year and Australian Open in 2020. She won her maiden professional title in the W15 Manacor in 2021.
