Beatrice Gomez reveals story behind the purple gown she wore at Miss Universe Philippines coronation
Beatrice Gomez took the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night by storm, wearing a suit and rocking the androgynous look for her final walk.
But the purple gown she wore to crown Celeste Cortesi? That has quite a story, too.
On Instagram Sunday, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 shared the purple dress, which Francis Libiran describes as "intricately embroidered with pearls and crystals" and"inspired by the cosmos," was actually the last dress that fashion designer Libiran prepared for her as she competed in the 70h Miss Universe competition in Israel last December.
"I remembered fitting this gown on the morning of my departure to Israel and telling myself if only I could wear all the gowns to the competition," Bea said.
"But there really is a perfect time for everything and in this case it was fit for me to wear it in welcoming Celeste Cortesi into the MUPH sisterhood," she continued tagging the new Miss Universe.
Bea ended her note thanking Francis "for always giving me the strength and confidence to shine in my uniqueness through your beautiful work."
