BTS’ latest bag collab lets ARMY travel with them everywhere

Global K-pop act BTS is conquering social media and local cinemas this weekend with the Seoul leg of their “Permission To Dance On Stage” concert!

South Korea has yet to open its doors to tourists from the Philippines, which means majority of Filipino ARMY, especially those who became fans during the pandemic, have to make do with livestreamed concerts and merch for now to feel closer to their idols.

Adding to this “budol” list is the BTS’ latest collab with Samsonite RED, the brand’s contemporary line designed for younger travelers.

The collection is inspired by BTS’ 2020 hit song “Dynamite,” which shot up the global charts for its retro-pop sound and hopeful message at the height of the pandemic.

The first phase of BTS x Samsonite Red featured spinner luggage, carry-on bags and other travel essentials like organizers, passport holders, mini cases, and neck pillows. The items came in classic black and of course, purple.

These items became out of stock soon after the merch dropped in the Philippines last December 15—as expected, especially since RM, Jin, Suga, Jungkook, V, J-hope, and Jimin had just announced that they would be taking an extended break. Fans snapped up the merch for when they can travel again to see BTS in concert.

And just as the boys are back from their break, the brand has launched the second phase of BTS x Samsonite Red, featuring a capsule collection of backpacks and crossbody bags. For Philippine shoppers, the items are available on Lazada and select Samsonite stores.

Like the luggage collection, the pieces come in black and sheer violet in limited quantities. The campaign is called “From Red to Purple” and incorporates themes from “Dynamite” as well.

Unlike the luggage though, fans won’t have to be traveling far just to use these bags. The backpack can carry enough for a short trip, has a smart sleeve that fits onto a trolley handle as a carry-on, and provides enough space for a 15.6-laptop and other gadgets. The cross bags are perfect for daily errands or essentials while on the go.

For ARMY, it’s like taking BTS with them wherever it is. You don’t need permission to fly—you can just be shining through the city with a little funk and soul! —JAB, GMA News.
