Support local: Score handmade leather shoes at Marikina Shoe Bazaar
Looking for the perfect gift for your loved ones? You might want to visit Marikina Shoe Bazaar for budget-friendly handmade leather shoes.
According to Mark Salazar’s “24 Oras” report, Thursday, the bazaar opened this week to help the city’s shoe industry amid the ongoing pandemic.
Apart from being more affordable compared to those found in malls, shoes at the Marikina Shoe Bazaar are handmade and crafted delicately before being sold.
“It’s made of leather, handmade, with heart, and hard work,” a student at the bazaar said in a mix of English and Filipino.
Another seller also said that they got to innovate designs and produce items of the same quality as those sold in other countries.
Apart from scoring new shoes, buyers will also be able to help 12 to 15 families working in the factories.
The Marikina Shoe Bazaar is open until Jan. 15. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
