Miss Universe PHL Bea Gomez rocks a tracksuit in Jerusalem after luggage goes missing

Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Bea Luigi Gomez experienced a brief luggage mishap in Israel.

On Tuesday, Miss Universe PHL communications director Voltaire Tayag said one of Bea's suitcases had gone missing upon their arrival in Jerusalem.

In a now deleted Instagram post, Tayag responded to the negative feedback from netizens who questioned why Bea was wearing a black tracksuit while posing for a photo with Miss Thailand Anchilee Scott-Kemmis.

"When she (Gomez) collected them at the Ben Gurion airport, all were accounted for. But when she got to Jerusalem, one suitcase was missing and not taken to her room," the officer explained.

Tayag clarified there were no official scheduled activities at the time, and that Bea went only downstairs to check on her luggage while wearing her sash.

"The hotel asked her to go down to check the luggage room personally prior but since she hadn’t received her RT-PCR results she couldn’t. She’d go there the moment she could," he said.

"We told her to just wear the track suit and the sash (which is required) since there was no official activity and she’s only checking her luggage. It so happened that Anchilee was there and she was asked to take a photo with her."

Tayag also appealed for the public's understanding as "that track suit was not an OOTD."

"I hope that before anyone jumps to conclusions, blames people, throw out negativity, know that there is usually a plausible explanation. Whether or not that is given, it does not give anyone the right to be toxic or accusatory," he said.

The missing suitcase had been returned as of Wednesday morning, based on Tayag's most recent IG post. — LA, GMA News
