Ikea Philippines' massive warehouse is on another level
It's not long now: Ikea is about to open in the Philippines and with 65,000-square meters to its name, it's famously touted as the biggest Ikea store in the world.
Ahead of its opening — and as though to tickle us further — the Swedish furniture brand already has its online operations up and running since last month, which tells us: Them Ikea goods are already here, in our shores. In fact, they've been here since June when the first shipment arrived.
If you're wondering how 65,000-sqm worth of furniture is being stored, well SM Mall of Asia on Facebook Thursday gave a sneak peek of Ikea's warehouse, and let us tell you: It's massive.
On floor-to-ceiling shelves upon shelves upon shelves containing rows upon rows upon are boxed furniture and other paraphernalia all waiting to be purchased and assembled in your homes.
There are even friendly-looking forklifts parked at the edge of the warehouse, presumably for easier lifting and what-not.
"IKEA's online store is finally open and will operate 24/7! Here’s a sneak preview of the warehouse of the biggest IKEA in the world only at the SM Mall of Asia Complex!" The post read.
Ikea is expected to open its first Philippine store in Pasay during the final quarter of 2021. When it called for a press conference in 2018 to announce its arrival, Ikea estimated about 9,000 products that will be on offer.
Apart from the online store, Ikea has been holding pop-up events across Metro Manila, too. Consider us excited! — LA, GMA News
