40-feet Christmas tree, light sculpture usher in holiday season at Eastwood
Christmas is definitely around the corner, especially at Eastwood Mall in Quezon City.
As shown on Jamie Santos’ “24 Oras” report, Thursday, a 40-feet giant Christmas tree at the mall’s open park was lit up by the ornaments surrounding it.
Complementing the tree was a larger than life light sculpture called “Festive Fungi Merry Mycelium” by contemporary Filipino artist Leeroy New.
The installation features 7-meter high structures patterned after mushrooms that light up with the beat of Christmas songs.
“We are still in the COVID-19 pandemic but I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m sure you can all see it as well,” said Graham Coates, first vice president and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
As always, mallgoers are required to follow safety and health protocols.
