IKEA Philippines holds pop-up event ahead of store opening

Can’t wait to go shopping at the Philippines’ first-ever IKEA store?

To give excited Filipinos some home inspiration before the big store opening, IKEA Philippines held a pop-up event at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City that would run from Sept. 16 to 19.

Will customers finally get to buy items at the pop-up store? Unfortunately not, but the public can get a first look at some of IKEA’s sample home setups.

“You can actually try everything there,” IKEA Philippines deputy store manager Aileen Prodigalidad said in an online press event.

“You want to sit sa may dining area, you want to sit sa balcony, you wanna try the bed doon sa may bedroom area, you want to see, you want to feel -- you can do that.”

According to country manager Georg Platzer, IKEA Philippines is scheduled to open its doors to the public in Q4 of 2021.

The Pasay City outlet is expected to be the biggest in the world, with five levels and roughly a 68,000 sq meter area. – RC, GMA News
