Paolo Ballesteros designs national costume for Rizal's Binibining Pilipinas candidate Honey Cartasano


The 34 Binibining Pilipinas 2021 candidates paraded their national costumes in a video presentation released on Independence Day and one of them was designed by none other than Paolo Ballesteros.

The Eat Bulaga mainstay took to Instagram to proudly announced that he designed the national costume of Rizal's Binibining Pilipinas Candidate Honey Cartasano.

"Mga Dabarkads! Eto na yung dinesign ko for Honey Cartasano sa Binibining Pilipinas. Vote na for Best in National Costume," Paolo wrote in the caption of his video post showing Honey modeling her Higantes inspired national costume.

 

 

As we all know, the Higantes Festival takes place in Angono, Rizal ever November to celebrate Pope St. Clement. 

Honey also posted a video snippet of herself sporting her national costume on Independence Day and said, "In celebration of our 123rd National Independence Day, let us continue to cherish and protect the freedom our ancestors fought for!" 

 

 

Fans can vote for their favorites by liking their post on the BBP's official TikTok channel, as well as the pageant's website

This year, the Bb. Pilipinas has changed the pageant a bit with. The 10 candidates with the most votes will be announced on the National Costume Fashion Show to be streamed on YouTube and Facebook on June 27.

The grand winner of the national costume competition will be announced on the coronation night.

The Binibining Pilipinas grand coronation event will happen on July 11 taking place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up Nicol Cordoves.

This year’s pageant will crown four queens with the titles of Binibining Pilipinas International, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Binibining Pilipinas Globe. Binibining Pilipinas 2021 Grand Coronation Night will be livestreamed on YouTube. 

This isn't the first time Paolo designed a gown for a beauty pageant. In 2018, the uber talented host designed a Filipiniana gown for a candidate for Mutya ng Pilipinas. — LA, GMA News
