Rabiya Mateo to wear creations of Furne Amato, late Rocky Gathercole in Miss Universe 2020 pageant
Rabiya Mateo will wear creations of Filipino designers Furne Amato and the late Rocky Gathercole in the Miss Universe 2020 pageant.
On Instagram, Miss Universe Philippines on Thursday posted a photo of Furne, confirming that his work will be showcased in the prestigious pageant.
"Furne Amato's masterpieces will display ostentatious Filipino artistry in both preliminary and finals of the Miss Universe pageant," the caption read.
Furne is the creative genius behind Dubai-based Amato Couture, which has dressed a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry among others.
He is also the designer behind Ariana Grande's lavish dresses in her "God is a Woman" music video.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines Organization Creative Director Jonas Gaffud previously revealed that Rocky was the designer of the national costume for Miss Universe.
The 54-year-old fashion designer passed away in March after being found unresponsive in the second floor comfort room of his house.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization said they will be commemorating Rocky in collaboration with jewelry master Manny Halasan.
Rocky has done clothes for big Hollywood celebrities including Carrie Underwood, J.Lo, Cardi B, Tyra Banks, and Nicki Minaj.
