Filipino designer Rocky Gathercole has passed away
Avant Garde Filipino designer Rocky Gathercole has passed away, his colleagues and friends posted about the sad news on social media.
According to a Cabinet Files report on PEP.ph, the 54-year-old fashion designer was found unresponsive in the second floor comfort room at his house in Samar Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.
His trustee and fashion designer Simple confirmed the news to PEP.ph.
Megastar Sharon Cuneta on Wednesday night mourned the passing of his friend posting a video of herself bursting into tears during a shoot after learning the news.
"A few hours ago, as I was getting ready to shoot my first scene for the night, I got word that my friend and coutourier Rocky Gathercole passed away," she wrote in the caption.
"Rocky loved me. He was a pure Sharonian and my friend. He couldn’t wait to see this movie because he loved Osang too," she added.
"I miss you already, dearest Rocky. Thank you for loving me all these years. My and my family’s deepest condolences to Rocky’s family during this terrible time. May God keep you all strong as I am sure Rocky would want you to be. God bless you."
The late Filipino designer has done clothes for big Hollywood celebrities including Carrie Underwood, J.Lo, Cardi B, Tyra Banks, and Nicki Minaj.
Rocky is also tapped for couture dresses by local celebrities, Filipina beauty queens, and even politicians.
On March 3, Rocky shared a video of a neon green dress and asked his Facebook friends to guess for who, it was.
"Mag guessing game tayo, hulaan nyo para kanino itong ginagawa kong costume ?"
It turned out to be her last social media post.
