MUJI is set to open its biggest Philippine store at Shangri-La Plaza this March

After teasing shoppers about opening its largest store in the Philippines, MUJI has now revealed where it's going to be and when it's going to open: Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong this March.

According to a press statement, the largest MUJI store in the country will span a whopping 1,400 sqm — an extended version of MUJI's current 400sqm-store in Shangri-La.

Its interiors will showcase various textures and natural materials such as old wood and metal for a cozier, open environment.

Here are things you can expect from Philippines' largest MUJI store.

1. About 4,000 items are available

There will be around 4,000 items available at the MUJI store, including the brand's array of daily essentials in health and beauty, pens and stationery, travel, kitchenware, houseware, furniture, and electronics products.

Aside from essentials, it will also offer apparel for men and women, children's wear, innerwear, bags, shoes, and accessories.

2. Unisex clothing line

The new MUJI store in Shangri-La will carry exclusive  products and services, including the Labo line, which is the brand's unisex clothing line.

According to the press release, the Labo line can be "be worn by anyone regardless of age, gender, and body type with its simple and streamlined design featuring colors and shapes for easy coordination."

MUJI said this is their answer to "excessive fashion, inspiring customers to create a more purposeful wardrobe instead of cramming it with unnecessary items that they don’t often use."

3. Upscaled customer service

At the new MUJI store, customers will also get access to MUJI Advisors who offer free consultation services for three specific segments including interior, styling, and experience.

The statement explained a MUJI Interior Advisor "will provide recommendations on what MUJI furniture best fits a customer’s lifestyle at home," while the MUJI Styling Advisor "will help address styling concerns such as questions on fit, color, and sizing options."

Lastly, the MUJI Experience Advisor will help shoppers "better understand the different products that MUJI offers under the stationery and health and beauty departments."

4. Free water refilling station

Aware that 1,400 sqm is quite massive space, MUJI promises a water refilling station at its Shang store, which according to the press release, is part of the brand's efforts to "further reduce plastic waste."

The brand will also sell reusable water bottles priced at P160 each that customers can use to avail of the free water refilling service.

As if that's not enough, the store in Shang will also feature Open MUJI, a space where the brand can showcase MUJI concepts and house various activities.

"This area serves as a platform where the brand can communicate with customers and where MUJI Advisors can conduct workshops that help support the community," the statement said.
