Deodorant is among the top 5 items Filipino Twitter users purchased online in the past month, data shows

As more and more people turn to online shopping, especially amid the lockdown, Twitter noted some of the behaviors they saw among Filipino Twitter users who have become online shoppers. And their data is interesting.

Deodorant, it turns out is among the top five purchases of Filipino users in the last — it's at no. 4 actually with 70% Twitter users saying they've bought deodorant online.

Shampoo and conditioner is no. 1 at 81%, while cleaning products is no. 2 at 76%. Laundry products were 3rd at 72%, and finally. Food — snacks foods — at the 5th with 66%.

It comes as no surprise that 51% of Filipino online shoppers are women (who are interested in music, food and drink, and cooking), while the rest are men (who are into technology, gadgets, and music).

While online shopping has been deemed safe and super convenient, making it dangerous to splurge cash, Twitter's data shows that over 69% of Filipino shoppers aren't as loose with their moolah online. They actually do research first before making a purchase.

Meanwhile, 55% of Filipino online consumers look to social media to discover items and what's new in the market.

If you're wondering what drives Filipino online shoppers to make a purchase, 67% will say it's the free delivery.

Meanwhile, 52% complete their purchase when a store allows cash on delivery, and 50% are enticed by discounts.

More than promos, customers are also into brands that are championing an advocacy genuinely.

Wonder if 11.11 will change all these stats. — LA, GMA News
