Linya-Linya partners with Michael V for nostalgic collab shirt
Michael V’s powerful truth bomb about the wonder of being a Filipino kid has inspired a local clothing brand to release a nostalgic collaboration with the Kapuso comedy genius.
Linya-Linya just unveiled the “Linya-Linya x Michael V” T-shirt design that features sipa, piko and many other fun games Filipinos loved to play as children.
Right at the center, the shirt reads: “Hindi na tayo naglalaro kaya tayo tumatanda.”
According to Linya-Linya, the shirt was inspired by one of Michael V’s vlogs titled #BitoyStory 24: “VOLTES V,” where he discusses the cult-classic anime series “Voltes V” and how it shaped his childhood.
Bitoy did not just remind us how our younger selves were amazed with simple encounters—he also stressed that growing older did not necessarily mean we have to let go of that child-like wonder.
“Dahil mayayabang na ’yung mga mature na mga sarili natin, hindi na natin ineenjoy ’yung kababawan,” Michael V said.
According to Linya-Linya’s creative director Ali Sangalang, Michael V, with his “pure, good-hearted content,” is considered one of the brand’s “major inspirations.”
“This collab means a lot to our brand and our community,” Sangalang said.
“Bukod sa solid fans kami ni Bitoy, talagang aligned kami sa gusto naming i-communicate sa mga Pinoy. Nakakatuwa ring isipin na somehow, mai-immortalize namin itong powerful linya mula sa isang timeless and beloved icon na idolo ng lahat sa pagiging young-at-heart,” he added.
