Nelson Canlas sells ‘Chika Minute’ outfits to raise funds for COVID-19 prevention kits

Nelson Canlas is selling the outfits he used on his “Chika Minute” segments to raise funds for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) prevention kits for schoolchildren.

“So every year meron talaga akong small charity projects that I do but this year, hindi tayo makakapunta sa charitable institutions so I thought tulungan ko na lang ang Kapuso Foundation,” Nelson told GMA News Online.

The “Chika Minute” host launched his new project “Nelson Canlas Trades” on the first week of the month ahead of his 50th birthday on Aug. 8.

With the project, he hopes to sell the outfits he wore at least once on “Chika Minute.”

Although the pieces originally cost between Php 8,000 and Php 10,000, he is now selling the preloved items for about Php 3,000 each.

Nelson said the proceeds would go to Kapuso Foundation’s “Labanan ang COVID-19 Project” to help provide 80,000 schoolchildren with COVID-19 prevention kits, which include alcohol, soap, and washable face masks.
