Events group shifts to ‘mobile palengke’ amid pandemic

The events industry is one of those badly hit by the novel coronavirus disease pandemic.

An events planner in Pampanga, however, has found a way to stay afloat while helping provide basic needs and jobs to more people.

The San Fernando City-based Portfolio Events Solution has turned its office into a “mobile palengke,” according to a “24 Oras” report by Vonne Aquino on Saturday.

From organizing weddings and other big occasions, the group now sells meats, fruits and vegetables, and other food products.

Events planner Michael Muñoz thought of opening the store to help fellow workers who had lost their jobs and those who couldn’t leave their homes to buy essential items.

He said that their supply came from colleagues and past clients.

“We’ve been learning a lot and nag-eenjoy kami,” he added. 

According to Michael, even if the current situation goes back to normal or eases down a bit, he plans to continue with the mobile palengke.

“We’ve seen so much opportunity sa pagiging palengkero at palengkera,” he said. – RC, GMA News
