The making of Gazini Ganados' Philippine eagle-inspired national costume
Gazini Ganados embodied the spirit of the Philippine eagle when she debuted her jaw-dropping outfit during the Miss Universe 2019 National Costume Competition on Saturday morning (Manila time).
The 23-year-old beauty queen was covered in silver feathers from head to toe, and on her shoulders rested life-sized birds.
More importantly, her headdress was a nod to the Philippines' national bird.
This stunning piece was created by non other than Pinoy designer Cary Santiago.
In his Facebook account, he posted a video that showed the process behind the creation of the national costume.
In an earlier post, the designer said the intricate details were hand-stitched!
"The design is not as flamboyant but the details are very intricate. Its hand-stitched all coming from the same fabric with my signature laser cut patterns," he said.
