Catriona continues to highlight PHL culture, wears Inaul fabric to meet with press

Catriona Gray is meeting with members of the press on Wednesday afternoon, and much like her campaign for the Miss Universe crown, the beauty queen continues to highlight Philippine culture through her clothes.

For this afternoon, Catriona is sporting a suit dress made with Inaul Fabric, a traditional textile from Maguindanao.

The beauty queen posted a photo of her OOTD on Instagram, sharing a few more details about her OOTD: The Inaul suit dress was made by Jearsond, and she was styled by Andrea Aliman. Brent Sales put her hair in a tight top bun, and Memay Francisco took care of her makeup.

Inaul, which means “weaved,” is usually used as a malong, or skirt. Traditionally Inaul is worn only by royals but these days, it’s “been touted to be a showcase of Maguindanao’s ‘artistic expression’.”

In a post on Instagram Stories, Cat said she was "wearing my favorite FIlipino textile."

During the Miss Universe competition, Catriona impressed most everyone when she consistently highlighted Philippine culture through the clothes she'd wear for official functions of Miss Universe.

Her National Costume had elements that symbolized the three major islands of the Philippines, while her long gowns emphasized a few important cultural points: at the preliminaries, she wore an Ibong Adarna-inspired gown. When she won, she wore a red dress inspired by the Mayon Volcano. — LA, GMA News
