“Every collection has a theme, and though each collection has about 30 pieces on average, some also has fewer than 10 pieces, “Martha King tells GMA News Online over email.

There’s the “Secrets des Forets” or the secrets of the forest, with a family of squirrels as its main inspiration; the Hiver a Giverny which si the floral collection of the season, inspired by Claude Monet. Desert Crepusculaire is inspired by the Arizona or Mexican desert, while the Love Me collection, with true love as its theme, sounds like the perfect gift for Valentines Day.

“Every piece has a story, and each detail is meticulously done,” Martha says, adding Les Nereides “is very poetic, emotional and hyper feminine.”

She was the one who discovered the brand, while on a trip to Santorini, Greece three years ago. “I am always on a lookout for unique accessories every time I travel. I spotted this beautiful pair of earrings through a store window. It was love at first sight. I went inside and was amazed at how affordable they actually were,” Martha narrates.

Les Nereides was founded over 30 years ago, in 1980. Inspired by nature and animals, Les Nereides offers a unique and whimsical take on costume jewelry. As such, each piece is so versatile, you can take them from daytime all the way to evening.

Says Martha, Les Nereides Manila will see its collections updated twice a year. “We have the Fall/Winter every August to September, and the Summer/Spring every February to March.”— LA, GMA News
