The tired girl’s guide to looking cute this Holiday season

Days leading up to Christmas are some of the most stressful of the year. Traffic is extra mad, work is extra busy (year-end quotas, anyone?), parties have you puyat, shopping becomes a chore. By the time Christmas rolls in, you just want to stay in bed.

But Jesus is born — isn’t that an occasion you’ll want to dress up and show up for? We culled a few things that’ll help you look cute — with very little effort — for the Savior’s birth.

1. Put on some make up. You don’t have to do the whole nine yards by starting with a foundation, darling. Perhaps some color on your cheeks and lips? Maybe fix your brows, or do your lashes? Avon’s Simply Pretty line has the basics covered.

We specially like the lip and cheek tint (P139), a 2-in-1 thing that won’t take up too much space in your memory and your kikay kit and the brow defining pencil (P89) because kilay, indeed, is life.

The lip and cheek tint will give you an instant glow, while the brow defining pencil is necessary for anybody living the kilay is life philosophy

2. Look to Barbie for inspiration. Here's a tip from the most tired girl on our team: Choose a dress instead of wearing your usual pants. Apart from looking special, you save brain energy from trying to pair which shirt with what trousers.

That said, local brand Plains and Prints recently collaborated with Barbie for a 10-piece capsule collection and the results are nothing short of…cute. They’re holiday-appropriate, really feminine, and rather affordable, too, making dressing up so easy.

3. Wear new shoes. While sneakers are indeed life, we wouldn’t mind trading in our newly purchased kicks for any of the lovely pairs from Melissa’s holiday collection.

Dubbed Melissa Mapping, the Brazilian shoe brand looked to worldwide destinations in creating eight new pairs of avant garde designs. Our favorites? Shibuya, inspired by the trendy Japanese locale and Dubrovka, which looks to Russia.

Of course we know just how tired you are, so feel free to choose just one of these — not all of them together all at once! — and have a merry Christmas.
