Rediscovering, enjoying Newport Mall again

Increased security and safety were obviously on everyone’s mind when Newport Mall marketing manager Abi Garcia spoke to invited media members at Ichiba Japanese Market.

New baggage x-ray machines, metal detectors, and a team of security guards on every entrance/exit were the most visible changes in this Megaworld Lifestyle Mall in Pasay City.

The hiring of Blackpanda — “a global security expert that specializes in crisis response, risk management, and security consulting” — plus other “can’t disclose” measures are the reactive and pro-active approaches that Resorts World Manila and the Newport Mall as a separate entity made in light of the incident that happened last June 2, 2017.

On a lighter note, to woo back the 25,000 daily patrons (average) back to its four floors of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, Newport Mall has been giving massive discounts and great deals during its Grand Sale and Fantastic Treats promotion.

Food lovers can look forward to promos like Café Creole’s daily Buy 1 Woodfire Oven Pizza and Get the 2nd at 50% deal.

Special offers from Recipes (5% off on all meals), Mr. Kurosawa (10% off for cash or 5% discount for card transactions), Johnny Kahuku (P50 off on all Poke Balls), Annam Noodle Bar (Buy 1, Take 1 on Lemon Grass Chicken Banh Mi and Crispy Netted Rolls Dessert) and other dining establishments are also valid until the end of July.

As a bonus, parking will be free upon presenting a minimum of P500 single or accumulated receipts; otherwise, a new flat rate of P50 will be charged.

Fashion and shopping aficionados can look forward to discounts of up to 70% off and special offers from local and foreign brands such as Beyond the Box (30% on select items), Victoria’s Secret (20% off on regular priced accessories), Coalition (15% off on Sebago, Wanda Panda, Sprayground, Zero, Bucketfeet, and Vans shoes; 10% off on Palladium and Birkenstock footwear), Puma, Charles & Keith, Hush Puppies, La Senza, Bench, and many more.

As an additional treat for those looking for entertainment, ticket prices from screenings between 1 pm to 4 pm at the Newport Mall cinemas have been slashed to P170 (P150 for children 12 years old and below) and daily live performances by some of the country’s best entertainers happen at the mall’s signature plaza on the second floor.

With average daily foot traffic improving (around 50% as of writing) and the announcement of the resumption of casino operations on the first and third floors, Newport Mall is hoping to lure back their loyal patrons as well as welcome new visitors.
