Willy Wonka competition show announced at Netflix
What if you got a real golden ticket?
Netflix is inviting people to a "competition beyond imagination" for a show titled "The Golden Ticket."
Inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the show lets in lucky contestants who receive the coveted golden ticket, before forcing them to "adapt, strategize, and withstand the unknown" to make it through.
According to Netflix, the competition will be set inside a retro-futuristic dreamscape, and the "high-stakes social experiment" will challenge players in games, tests, and temptations.
Casting is now open for participants in the US. More details will be announced at a later date.
Roald Dahl released the novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in 1964. It inspired the musical film "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" (1971), and the more recent "Wonka" (2023). —JCB, GMA Integrated News
