Monster High just released a doll featuring the Philippine mythical creature manananggal and we're here for it!
On social media, the doll line of Mattel shared a closer look of the doll they call Corazon Marikit dressed in traditional Filipino fashions and accessories while sporting the wings of a manananggal.
“A feast of Filipino fashion and traditions, this manananggal maven is said to be able to separate her top and bottom halves to fly into the night. A vision in foil print and fringe, along with beautifully embroidered batwings, Corazon Marikit saunters down a runway of jasmine, leaving her fangs screaming for more,” Mattel wrote on its website.
The doll will arrive in the “most innovative, two-part packaging design,” with a doll stand that will allow its upper body to slide up and down as well as its lower body to swing and rotate.
The manananggal doll is priced at 75 USD or around P4,200 and is available on Mattel’s website.
The manananggal, also called as self-segmenter, is a Filipino Aswang that can detach her torso from her lower body, and take flight during the night to eat infants.
It previously also inspired a local brand to make a manananggal plushie.
