SB19 releases comeback single 'DAM'

SB19 officially kickstarted their new era with their new song "DAM," the first single off of their upcoming comeback album "Simula at Wakas."

The new track seamlessly blends elements of hip-hop, Celtic and Filipino folk, EDM, industrial, and prog-rock. According to a statement, SB19 was fueled by their love for medieval fantasy, while retaining some elements of their hit songs "What" and "GENTO."

"We’ve always pushed boundaries in terms of music," the P-Pop Kings said. “For this particular track, we’ve built on the elements that made ‘What and ‘GENTO’ resonate so strongly with the general public, but we’ve also uncharted sonic territories that gave us the creative freedom to truly express ourselves.”

"DAM" is a play on the Filipino word “Pakiramdam.” The song is an anthem about staying true to one’s values and principles amidst the sacrifice required to achieve greater dreams in career and life.

SB19 will also release a music video for "DAM," set in a dark, medieval fantasy world.

The group will perform "DAM" live for the first time on "All Out Sundays" on March 2.

"Simula at Wakas" is the third installment of SB19's EP trilogy, following "Pagsibol" and "Pagtatag!" It will be released on April 25.

SB19 will go on a world tour starting May 31 at the Philippine Arena in support of the EP.

Composed of Pablo, Stell, Ken, Josh, and Justin, SB19 debuted in 2018 and has become one of the most successful P-pop groups today. They are known for their songs "MAPA," "GENTO," and "Nyebe." —JCB, GMA Integrated News
