‘Squid Game’ cast tries playing tumbang preso
The stars of “Squid Game” tried their hand at the classic Filipino game, tumbang preso.
In a video posted on Netflix Philippines’ YouTube channel, lead star Lee Jung Jae (who plays Song Gi Hun a.k.a. Player 456) and new cast member Jo Yu Ri (Kim Jun Hee or Player 222) took on the challenge.
Yu Ri greeted Pinoys. “Are you watching, Filipino fans? Hello!”
The actors learned about the game’s rules, which Jung Jae said was “pretty simple.”
However, they struggled with hitting the can with the slipper.
“This is hard,” Jung Jae said. He then joked, “Given the slipper’s light weight, there’s something scientific about its curve that makes it air resistant.”
“This is harder than it looks!” Yu Ri added. She ended up being successful and celebrated her win.
The cast including Wi Ha Jun and Yim Si Wan also tried out popular games from around the world.
“Squid Game” Season 2 premiered on Netflix in December, featuring new players and games.
Seong Gi Hun, also known as Player 456, reenters the Squid Game after three years to find the people behind it and end the deadly sport.
Aside from Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, and Gong Yoo reprised their roles from Season 1. The new cast members include Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Uk, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Sim, Lee David, Choi Seung Hyun, Roh Jae Won, Jo Yu Ri, and Won Ji An.
The series is nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Drama.
“Squid Game” also unveiled the first poster for its third and final season, which premieres this year.
