Sophia of KATSEYE reunites with family in the Philippines in new vlog; fellow members try balut

Sophia Laforteza had an emotional reunion with her family during KATSEYE’s recent visit to the Philippines.

In a vlog posted on the girl group’s YouTube channel, Sophia’s parents Carla Guevarra and Godfrey Laforteza, and younger brother Oreo, could be seen at their press conference.

Lara cried and said she was "so happy" for Sophia.

“It just makes me so sad [that] you haven’t been home for so long.”

Later that day, Sophia had a tearful reunion at a family gathering, which was also attended by Lara, Megan, their siblings, and moms.

“Oh my god, I’m like overwhelmed,” Sophia said while she hugged her crying loved ones.

It was also revealed that Sophia’s family has a cat they named after member Yoonchae.

During dinner, Sophia, Lara, and Megan ate balut.

Megan was nervous at first, but then said after trying it, “It’s not bad.”

Lara was likewise scared but ended up enjoying the delicacy. “This is fire,” she said.

The girls were also able to visit Sophia’s childhood bedroom which was filled with family photos and posters of her favorite artists.

The Filipina member then gave KATSEYE albums to her loved ones.

While in the Philippines, KATSEYE performed on “It’s Showtime,” and met their fans during their showcase.
