Halloween 2024: Here's a roundup of exciting events this spooky season

It's officially spooky season! Got plans already this Halloween?

You're spoiled for choice because Metro Manila is teeming with thrilling and magical events that kids and adults alike can enjoy this October to November.

Here's a roundup of Halloween events to check out, including an escape room with evil clowns, a costume party for fur parents and fur babies, a spooky quiz night, a Filipino folklore party, and more.

1. Murder Mystery Game Night

If solving cases is your thing, then Hey Socials has a killer one for you. The Murder Mystery Game Night will transport you to an '80s-themed Halloween high school reunion, complete with fun character assignments, puzzles, and a scavenger hunt to take down a killer.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their funkiest '80s fit at the event. To register, contact 0916 100 7090.

Murder Mystery Game Night will be held on October 26, 8 p.m., at 33 Scout Santiago in Diliman, Quezon City.

2. Season of Spooks

It's the Season of Spooks in Okada Manila! The hotel has tons of fun events to watch for, including Halloween Unlocked, CosMeet 2024, and the Halloween Parade which are all happening from October 26 to 27. Aside from a parade of ghouls, there will also be fantastic games, shows, and character meet-and-greets for all.

There's also the Thrillscape Halloween Challenge from October 26 to November 3, which is a themed scavenger hunt perfect for those who love adventure. Kids who wish to go trick or treating may do so at select spots of the hotel from October 31 to November 3.

Okada Manila is located on New Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Paranaque City.

3. Scaredy Cats and Dogs: Year 19

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society pulled out all the stops to throw the largest pet Halloween costume party this year for fur parents and fur babies.

Scaredy Cats & Dogs has a ton of exciting prizes for the major winners of its costume competition, which includes most original pet costume, best aspin in costume, best puspin in costume, best pet and owner in costume, and more.

PAWS' adoptable rescues will also grace the event for attendees to meet. Registration fee is priced at P500, with an early bird discounted rate of P450 until October 25. You may register through this link.

Scaredy Cats & Dogs will be held on October 27, 3 p.m., at the East Wing Atrium of Greenhills Mall, San Juan City.

4. Spooktacular Anime Fest

The Spooktacular Anime Fest is the place to be for fans of anime. The event, which will kick off simultaneously in four different locations on October 27, will feature tributes to anime icons, as well as fun activities like costume contests, a spooky camp, and more.

Catch the Spooktacular Anime Fest's Halloween Costume Contest at the Quantum Skyview in Gateway Mall 2, the Anime-Zing Art Corner in the Activity Area of Gateway Mall 1, the Pet Costume Contest in the Activity Area of Ali Mall, and the Spooky Camp (Giant Inflatables) in the Activity Area of Farmers Plaza.

5. Mad Monster Lab

Trick or treat! The Mad Monster Lab has a slew of activities in store suitable for the whole family, such as face painting, balloon twisting, donut decorating, henna tattooing, and a photobooth. The event will also feature a musical show, a science experiment show, a giant bubble show, and special characters in costume.

Tickets are priced at P2,800 each and includes a bento lunch, a loot bag, and access to the event.

The Mad Monster Lab will be held on October 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Diamond Ballroom, Diamond Hotel in Manila City.

6. 'Halloween: Trick or Treat; Answer or be Beat' Quiz Night

Are you a lover of trivia? This quiz night is up your alley, then.

The Halloween: Trick or Treat; Answer or be Beat Quiz Night will test your mettle when it comes to spooky trivia, from Halloween history and cinema to pop culture, literature, and true crime, with wicked prizes in store for quiz winners and best-dressed teams.  

The event welcomes teams of four to six only, priced at P500 per head (consumable).

The Halloween quiz night will be held on October 29, 8 p.m., at Bombvinos Bodega in Makati City.

7. Pinoy Folklore Halloween Party

This Filipino horror-themed shindig is the perfect way to end the night as you get off work next Wednesday.

The Pinoy Folklore Halloween Party promises a night of wicked fun, teeming with unlimited booze and bar chow, as well as fun games and surprises. Tickets to the event are priced at P1,380 per head.

The party will be held on October 30, 6 p.m. to 12 midnight, at The Exchange in Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, Pasig City.

8. Scoop the Treat

Art In Island will grant free admission to kids ages 12 and below who wear Halloween costumes from October 31 to November 3.

To avail of this promo, kids must don their best costumes and present a screenshot of the promo post upon entry. One paying guardian must also accompany the child.

Kids are encouraged to participate in the art gallery's Scoop the Treat game for a chance to take home tons of sweets and treats.

9. Villain Ville: The Sorcerer's Lair

Southies, don't miss Villain Ville: The Sorcerer's Lair happening at Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City from October 31 to November 3.

Gather your kids (or coven!) and explore the Eternal Forest's displays, craft potions at the Murky Mixtures area,  get glowing face art at the Crystal Cavern, and join a coloring activity at the Magical Mess Hall.

10. Curse of Clowns

Face your worst nightmares at Curse of Clowns, a thrilling escape room by the Dessert Museum and Mystery Manila.

A team of two to 10 participants has five minutes each to spend in every room. Get to the next room once the buzzer alarms, or prepare to be taken by frightful clowns!

Tickets to the escape room are priced at P899 each. Every team will receive treats from Sucere after the tour.

Curse of Clowns is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., until November 10.

The Dessert Museum is located in S Maison on Seaside Boulevard, Pasay City.
