Max to launch in the Philippines this November

A big streaming platform is coming to town!

Warner Bros. Discovery on Tuesday announced that Max is launching in the Philippines, as well as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong on November 19.

Max is home to brands like HBO, Harry Potter, Cartoon Network, and the DC Universe.

Aside from iconic Hollywood movies and Max Originals, the platform also brings together programming from Discovery, TLC, AFN, Food Network, ID, and HGTV.

JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement that this is the next phase of Max’s globalization.

"We are thrilled to bring Max to more consumers in Asia," he said.

"Building on successful launches in the U.S., Latin America and Europe, Asia Pacific represents the next phase of Max’s globalization, making Max available now in over 72 markets with more to come in 2025,” he added.

With Max's arrival, all existing HBO GO subscriptions will become Max subscriptions, and users will be directed to the new streaming site on November 19.

Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks, the statement added. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
