Marian Rivera opens up about her toy-collecting journey: 'Wala na, naadik na'

Marian Rivera couldn't hide her excitement as she opened up about her toy-collecting journey in an interview with GMA News Online.

Ahead of “Balota’s” red carpet premiere on Friday night, the Kapuso Primetime Queen shared in an interview that she was influenced by her stylist and “BFF,” Melville Sy.

“Nagko-collect na talaga siya ng mga Labubu. Sabi niya, ‘Tingnan mo. Ang ganda-ganda ng mga ‘to. Nakita ko sa Korea,’” Marian said.

At first, Marian said that they just looked OK, until she was gifted her own Labubu bag charm.

“So dahil dun sa isa na ‘yon, bumili ako. Ta’s sabi ko, ‘Ano bang meron pa dito?’ Ta’s nakita ko ang ku-cute na,” she said.

She then received her first Molly from her husband, Dingdong Dantes.

“Nung birthday ko, first time ko maka-receive ng Molly, ‘yung may crown. Si Dong ‘yung nagbigay. So 'dun palang sinuportahan niya ako.”

Her second Molly figure was given to her by her photographer, and then she realized that the toys looked cute displayed at their home.

“Ayun na, wala na. Naadik na. Hanggang 'dun sa dulo na,” she said.

When asked which one from her collection is her favorite, Marian answered, “Lahat sila. Ang hirap mamili eh. Parang lahat sila. Lahat sila gusto ko. Ang cute eh!”

“Sabi ko nga parang bumalik ako dun sa pagkabata na why not, ‘di ba? Parang minsan kailangan mo yatang bumabalik doon para bumabalik sa sa energy mo. ‘Di ko alam pa’no i-explain, pero may ligayang dulot siya sa ‘kin. Siyempre you cannot compare naman sa mga anak ko, pero may something pa rin ‘to sa ‘kin,” she added.

Marian also agreed that it’s one of her ways to reward herself for the many achievements she has reached.

“Kilig na kilig ako at the age of 40 ha?”

Marian often shares photos and videos of her collection on social media.

One of her pieces is the Mega Royal Molly in the Han Meilin design, which is priced at P51,000.

Meanwhile, Marian’s recent film, “Balota,” is set to return to Philippine cinemas starting on October 16.

She played the role of Teacher Emmy, and her highly praised performance led her to win the Best Actress trophy at the Cinemalaya awards night. She shared the honor with Gabby Padilla. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
