Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried to star in 'The Housemaid' movie adaptation
Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are set to star in the movie adaptation of Freida McFadden’s New York Times bestselling psychological thriller book, “The Housemaid.”
The upcoming film will be directed by American director Paul Feig, who shared the exciting news on Instagram.
“It’s happening. So excited to bring this great book by @fmcfaddenauthor to life on the big screen,” Feig wrote on the social media platform, sharing a video of the book.
The project is under Lionsgate Motion Picture Group and Hidden Pictures Media.
Sydney on Instagram also posted a teaser clip, where she could be seen holding the book and showing a surprised face.
“Tell me about yourself, Millie #TheHousemaidMovie - coming soon!!” she wrote in the caption.
“The Housemaid” follows the story of Millie (Sydney), a struggling young woman who takes a job as a housekeeper for wealthy couple Nina (Amanda) and Andrew, but she’ll soon uncover the Winchesters’ secrets, which are “far more dangerous” than her own, according to the book’s synopsis.
More details on the film have yet to be released.
Among Sydney’s recent works are “Euphoria” and “Anyone But You,” while Amada starred in “Mamma Mia” and “The Dropout.”
