5 Olivia Rodrigo songs to help you spill your feels ahead of ‘Guts’ World Tour in Manila

5 Olivia Rodrigo songs to help you spill your feels ahead of ‘Guts’ World Tour in Manila

Olivia Rodrigo is gearing up for her “Guts” World Tour pitstop at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on October 5, Saturday.

The Fil-Am pop star is already in the country and has in fact already enjoyed her halo-halo.

“Guts” will be Olivia’s first performance in the Philippines, and her Filipino Livies more than ready for it. More than 700,000 fans queued online to secure tickets when they were first made available in September, and when they became available for over-the-counter ticket sale the following week, more fans braved long lines and even camped out just to get a change to see Olivia live.

Alas, plenty went home empty-handed. We understand the frustration and with the concert happening tomorrow, people are feeling even more sour than usual.

So allow us this playlist of five songs from Olivia Rodrigo’s discography to help you spill that sour feeling inside.

1. Brutal

Where are our angsty teenagers at? Included in Olivia’s 2021 debut album “Sour,” Brutal is an angsty track that talks about being "insecure," feeling like a "nervous wreck" and being "heartbroken."

"It's brutal out here," Olivia says and after lining up for 16 hours to buy tickets over-the-counter, we couldn't agree more.

2. Teenage Dream

More melancholic this time, “Teenage Dream,” included in Olivia’s sophomore release “Guts" talks about the fear of growing up.

It reflects the fears of a 19-year-old Olivia, but we argue the sad melody also shows the resignation we felt following the heartbreak of a full day's worth of website refresh just to get tickets online.

3. Enough For You

Olivia has some pretty good heart-wrenching songs in her discography and one of them is 'Enough For You' from her “Sour” album.

According to the Filipino-American singer, she wrote the song entirely by herself while on her bedroom floor after watching a hopeful breakup video on TikTok.

“It’s so embarrassing that this inspired this really emotional song, but I really was very inspired by this TikTok,” she said.

4. Stranger

The 16th track of her “Guts (spilled)” album, 'Stranger' is about overcoming a past relationship and the journey of personal growth and moving forward in life after a breakup.

5. The Grudge

Our sorrow is nowhere near the betrayal Olivia sings about in the song, but when she gets to the line "I try to be tough, but I wanna scream," every atom in our body responds like it's nobody's business. We need to be tougher Livies, especially this weekend when social media is bound to be an Olivia-fest after her show.
