‘Ghost of Tsushima’ sequel, ‘Ghost of Yotei,’ to be released in 2025

“Ghost of Tsushima” is getting a sequel.

On Wednesday, PlayStation 5 released an announcement trailer for the upcoming game titled “Ghost of Yotei.”

“In 1603, Atsu sets out on a journey in the lands surrounding Mount Yotei, an area filled with sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers,” the YouTube video’s caption said.

According to PlayStation’s blog, Atsu is a new female hero who will take on a journey more than 300 years after the events of “Ghost of Tsushima.”

The upcoming sequel is developer Sucker Punch’s first-ever game “built from the ground up for PlayStation 5.”

"Ghost of Yotei" promises to feature more enhancements, including "massive sightlines, whole new skies featuring twinkling stars and auroras, and more believable movement from wind on grass and vegetation."

The game will also bring in new mechanics, new types of weapons, and enhanced gameplay.

“Ghost of Yotei” will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2025.

Its predecessor, “Ghost of Tsushima,” was first released for PlayStation 4 in 2020 and became an instant hit.

The following year, it was announced that "Ghost of Tsushima" would be having a movie adaptation.

The upcoming film follows the Samurai warrior Jin Sakai as he tries to protect the Japanese island of Tsushima during a Mongol invasion.
