'One Piece' Live Action: Joe Manganiello, Lera Abova formally join the Season 2 cast
Are you ready to meet Mr. 0 and Miss All Sunday?
Netflix on Friday formally announced Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova to be part of "One Piece" Season 2. They play Baroque Works agents that are first introduced in Whiskey Peak, but fans know they eventually play bigger roles throughout the rest of the story!
Manganiello and Abova were both presented to fans by showrunner Matt Owens at the Geeked Week event.
"To be trusted with one of the greatest characters ever… I’ve been waiting for this my entire career," Manganiello said.
Last month, Charithra Chandra, who played Edwina Sharma in the second season of "Bridgerton," was cast as Miss Wednesday. The same week, Netflix announced the casting of Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk.
Back in June, they introduced Callum Kerr as Captain Smoker, and Julia Rehwald as Tashigi. As for the other Baroque Works agents, David Dastmalchian will be Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn will be Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson will be Mr. 5, and, Daniel Lasker will be Mr. 9.
"One Piece" is a live action adaptation of the legendary manga by Eiichiro Oda, which has been running since 1997.
The story follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) as he goes on a journey to find the treasure called the One Piece and become King of the Pirates.
Netflix released its live action adaptation in August last year, and it became a huge global hit.
