2024 Korean Film Festival to feature 5 free films on friendship this September
The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) will hold the 2024 Korean Film Festival in select cinemas from September 27 to 29 in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Friendship between Korea and the Philippines.
This year’s Korean Film Festival, titled “Chingu Kita!”(“You are My Friend"), will screen five free films that explore friendship in four different SM Malls.
The following films will be screened at SM Mall of Asia, SM City Baguio, SM Seaside City Cebu, and SM City Davao:
- "Smugglers" (2023): an action-packed film about two women involved in a smuggling scheme at a rural village during the 1970s
- "Love Reset" (2023): a story of how a married couple, who lost their memories while processing their divorce, fall in love again
- "Picnic" (2024): a film about an old woman, who revisits her childhood home and revisits memories of her and her friends during their childhood
- "Our Season" (2023): a heart-warming story of a deceased mother spending 3 days away from heaven to visit her daughter
- "Inseparable Bros" (2019): a story of an intelligent boy confined to a wheelchair, and his brother who was tall and athletic but had the mental age of a 5-year-old
Korea Culture & Tourism Institute's Contents Research Bureau Director Lee Yun Kyung and visual effects company West World’s CEO Son Seung-Hyun will also provide insights into the Korean film industry through the "Meet the Chingus!" event.
"Meet the Chingus!" will be held at the Cinematheque Centre, Manila, on Sept. 25 and at the UPFI Videotheque, Quezon City on Sept. 27 and 28.
