'Sine Singkwenta: Pelikula ng Bayan' to screen P50 films in select cinemas on September 18

Sine Singkwenta is back!

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) announced that Sine Singkwenta is making a return with "Pelikula ng Bayan" as part of the celebration of Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) this September.

"Sine Singkwenta: Pelikula ng Bayan" will be screening films for only P50 each from September 18  to 24 in select cinemas across Metro Manila, namely SM Southmall in Las Piñas; Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, Quezon City; and Ayala Malls Market Market in Taguig.

The films that will be screened comprise acclaimed features from the regions, such as "Huwebes Huwebes" by Januar Yap, Don Gerardo Frasco, and Kristoffer Villarino; "Cleaners" by Glenn Barit; "Iskalawags" by Keith Deligero; "Little Azkals" by Baby Ruth Villarama; and "Tu Pug Imatuy (The Right to Kill)" by Arbi Barbarona.

Tickets to the screenings will be available on-site and online via SM Cinema, Robinsons Movieworld, and Sureseats.

"Sine Singkwenta: Pelikula ng Bayan" is organized by the FDCP in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, SM Cinema, Robinsons Movieworld, and Ayala Malls Cinema.

Other events in celebration of PFIM this September include the "Pelikula ng Bayan: Shorts Across Islands" screenings and "Films for Peace" screenings, which are currently being held until Sept. 27.

The Sine Kabataan Short Film Festival 2024 will also run from Sept. 20 to 22.
