NewJeans at 'Ultimate Fandom' concert: 5 moments that were sweet like ‘Bubble Gum’

Oh my, oh my god—NewJeans made an epic return to the Philippines!

Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein reunited with their Filo Bunnies as the closing act at  "The Ultimate Fandom" concert by Coke Studio Philippines on Thursday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

NewJeans brought a “Supernatural” type of energy, which fans returned to them in the best way they could and made for a memorable show.

Here are five moments from the NewJeans set that were sweet like “Bubble Gum.”

1. ‘Hi, we are NewJeans! Mabuhay!’

“Hi, we are NewJeans! Mabuhay!” was a greeting Filo Bunnies were so happy to experience in real life.

Hanni said, “It is so, so lovely to be here with you today.”

Minji looked back on their first visit to the Philippines for the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) in 2023 and how, even up to today, they can feel the energy of their Filipino fans, which is something else.

Haerin also said that they were ready to have fun with everybody. Danielle agreed and thanked everybody for taking the time to be with them today with an enthusiastic, “Salamat po!”

2. First performances of their new songs in Manila

NewJeans opened the show with their hit song, “ETA,” which they also performed at the AAA. Hyein said performing it the first time “was so much fun” that they had to do it again.

But Bunnies were in for a treat when the girls performed their new songs in the country for the first time. After “ETA,” NewJeans transitioned into the cute “Bubble Gum.” This was followed by the upbeat “Supernatural” with an energetic choreography they performed with dancers, and then with the light pop song “How Sweet.”

3. ‘Your voices complete our songs’

The members interacted with fans all throughout their set. Even as they walked from the middle part to the main stage, NewJeans made eye contact, struck heart poses, and danced with their fans.

At one point, Danielle said, “You guys are so cute,” and that hearing Bunnies’ voices as they sing along “completes our songs.”

Before moving on to “How Sweet,” the girls asked for a cute singing moment with fans.

Minji said, “I’m sure you are aware that Filipinos are very famous for how they sing especially at concerts, right?”

Danielle added, “And although it’s not our concert, can we just have a small taste of how well you guys can sing?”

Hanni then demonstrated how to sing the backup parts of “How Sweet" to their Filipino fans, who gave their all once NewJeans performed the song.

4. ‘Coca-Cola masissda’

NewJeans exited the stage right after “How Sweet,” but fans wanted more of their five favorite girls. Fans chanted “Isa pa!” and “Encore!” all the way until a crew finished setting up a bright red sofa on stage.

Soon enough, NewJeans came back to perform their last song of the night, “Zero,” which was released as part of Coca-Cola Korea’s Coke Zero campaign.

Fans had the best time singing along to the catchy hook: “Coca-Cola masissda,” which means “Coca-Cola is delicious.”

5. A selfie and a ‘see you again’

Before exiting the stage for real this time, NewJeans requested for a photo with their Filipino fans in the background, and then posed on the red couch with them.

Afterwards, NewJeans held hands and took their bow.

But it wasn’t goodbye. As the members waved to fans, Minji told Bunnies, “See you again!”
