Linkin Park announces comeback with new singer, album, and tour

Linkin Park is back.

The rock band announced in a livestream on Thursday night (Friday morning in the Philippines) on their website and YouTube channel, as well as in events in Times Square, New York and Shoreditch High Street Station, London, that they have a new singer and album, and are going on a tour.

Linkin Park announced two new members: singer Emily Armstrong, and songwriter and new drummer Colin Brittain. According to a Billboard cover story, they invited them onboard for sessions and then began writing songs.

Armstrong is a scream singer formerly of the rock band Dead Sara.

Brittain replaces drummer and founding member Rob Bourton, who officially left the band this year. Rapper and singer Mike Shinoda told Billboard that Bourton told them years ago “that he wanted to put some distance between himself and the band.”

Linkin Park is also set to release a comeback album “From Zero,” which comes out on November 15, with pre-orders now open. Its first single “The Emptiness Machine” is out on streaming platforms now with a music video on YouTube.

The band will also mark their return with a short tour starting in September to November. Its stops include California, New York, Germany, South Korea, London, and Colombia.

“From Zero” is Linkin Park’s first album since “One More Light” in 2017. It was the last album with the band’s late singer, Chester Bennington.

Last February, the band dropped a previously unreleased song, “Friendly Fire” featuring Bennington.

Linkin Park also shared the unreleased song “Lost” in 2023 and dropped the 20th anniversary edition of their album, “Meteora.”

Linkin Park is best known for the songs “In the End,” “What I’ve Done,” and “One Step Closer.”
