Barney returns for an all-new series this October

Barney is making a TV comeback this October!

"Barney's World," an all-new animated series, just released a teaser trailer, showing the iconic purple dinosaur spreading love at the playground.

Barney will be joined by dinos Billy and Baby Bop and their three kid best friends.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reboot series will premiere on Max on October 14, and on Cartoon Network on October 18.  Some episodes will also stream on YouTube, beginning on October 11.

"The goal of Mattel Television Studios is to develop and distribute episodic and long-form content that expands Mattel’s characters and storylines across linear and streaming platforms worldwide," Josh Silverman, Mattel’s chief franchise officer, is quoted as saying.

"Barney nurtures the power of love in all of us, and we are thrilled to bring him back to fans all around the world. We hope this modern revival leaves an impression on young audiences, imparting lessons that will positively influence them as they grow up," he added.

The original series, "Barney & Friends," first aired in 1992, and ended in 2010. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
