'Minecraft' movie teaser unveils long-awaited first look at the live action adaptation


The "Minecraft" live action movie has finally debuted its teaser trailer, giving fans their first official look at the project.

"A Minecraft Movie," directed by Jared Hess, is the first-ever live action adaptation of the best-selling video game of all time, with over 300 million copies sold.

The teaser introduces Jack Black as Steve, the playable character in the original game, and Jason Momoa as The Garbage Man. It also brings in "Wednesday" star Emma Myers, "The White Lotus" star Jennifer Coolidge, "The Color Purple" actress Danielle Brooks, and "Just Mercy" actor Sebastian Eugene.

The group is pulled into the Overworld, the cubic wonderland where players begin their Minecraft journey. According to the official synopsis, they will have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with the expert crafter, Steve.
