'Midnight Sun': Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight' retelling is getting an animated show at Netflix

Edward Cullen and Bella Swan is coming back to our screens, this time as animation!

Netflix just announced that an animated show based on Stephenie Meyer's "Midnight Sun," a retelling of "Twilight" in Edward's perspective, is officially in development.

Meyer released the novel in 2020 and is considered a companion book to "Twilight," which was published in 2005.

"Twilight" and "Midnight Sun" follow Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, a teenage human girl and a vampire, as they fall in love and face superhuman dangers. The Twilight Saga also includes "New Moon," "Eclipse," and "Breaking Dawn."

The saga was adapted into a film series, starting with "Twilight" in 2008. The movies starred Kristen Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward.
