Saab Magalona’s son Vito plays drums for their band at a gig
Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro’s rockstar son Vito just played his first gig!
The couple is part of the band Cheats, and their kids Pancho and Vito watched their show for the first time. Saab shared their moments from the gig on Instagram, with the Bacarro Bros in the audience.
Saab said in her caption, “I’m SO happy that Pancho enjoyed the entire 45-minute set quietly watching, clapping, and headbanging with us!!”
Pancho is their 6-year-old panganay, whom they call a "miracle baby" after he survived a harrowing birth. His twin, Luna, did not. While he has cerebral palsy, Pancho bravely fights health challenges, which Saab documents on social media.
Their nearly 5-year-old old son Vito, meanwhile "was a different story," Saab said. “Despite weeks of reminders and explanations of how he would be part of the audience and not the band, he had complete FOMO when he saw us onstage.”
Cheats’ drummer and Vito’s ninong Lorenzo Hermosa invited him to play the drums for the last song and “made his night.”
“Super happy nya pero syempre nabitin sya so ibang storm pa yung kailangan kong kalmahin after the set,” Saab said.
“Waaahhhhh!!! But I told him he did a very hard thing of just watching and not playing and he should be very proud that he did it,” the musician and podcast host added. “Milestone unlocked!!!”
Saab also shared a mother-and-son backstage moment, wherein Vito said that he was missing her while she was singing.
Vito has been impressing netizens with his many talents, including singing and playing the drums to classic rock songs. He was even able to write a song on the spot with Jim.
Vito has also shown his interest in poetry and coffeemaking.
Too cool, Vito, too cool.
