Charithra Chandra, who played Edwina Sharma in the second season of "Bridgerton," has been cast as Vivi or Miss Wednesday in Netflix's "One Piece" live action series.

Netflix dropped the news on Friday, after a series of cast announcements for Season 2.

In the original story by Eiichiro Oda, Miss Wednesday is introduced in Whiskey Peak, but ends up playing a much larger role later in the manga.

Chandra said in a video message that she is "so excited" about her role.

"I feel incredibly grateful to Oda-sensei for trusting me with the role of Vivi," she said.

"I know how much she means to all of you, and I am going to work my hardest to do her justice and make you all proud," she added.

In a letter shared by Netflix, Oda said that he is once again closely monitor the production of the upcoming season.

"One Piece" Season 2 will cover the arcs Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island, he added.

This week, Netflix announced the casting of Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk.

Back in June, they introduced Callum Kerr as Captain Smoker, and Julia Rehwald as Tashigi. As for the Baroque Works agents, David Dastmalchian will be Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn will be Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson will be Mr. 5, and, Daniel Lasker will be Mr. 9.

"One Piece" is a live action adaptation of the legendary manga by Oda, which has been running since 1997.

The story follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) as he goes on a journey to find the treasure called the One Piece and become King of the Pirates.

Netflix released its live action adaptation in August last year, and it became a huge global hit.
