SB19's 'GENTO' and 'MAPA' performances on 'First Take' are out on streaming platforms
If you enjoyed SB19's performance of "GENTO" and "MAPA" on "First Take," good news! They're now on streaming platforms.
The P-Pop Kings impressed fans and casual viewers alike with their flawless new renditions of their hit songs last month.
To date, the performances have amassed more than 4.5 million views on YouTube, becoming one of the most viewed performances from an Asian pop group or band.
"We’re eternally grateful to THE FIRST TAKE for giving us an opportunity to showcase our work on a platform known not just for its massive global following but for elevating the audio-visual experience of music fans with much-needed authenticity and rawness,” SB19 said in a collective statement.
“The performances really challenged us to work within our limitations and deliver with the best of our abilities. We’ve always considered performing as a sanctimonious process that deserves utmost preparation, love, and respect. Constantly reminded by THE FIRST TAKE that we can only perform the songs once, we had to reconnect with our roots and embrace the beauty of spontaneity," they added.
SB19 made history as the first Filipino act to grace "First Take," a Japanese YouTube channel whose concept is all about performing a song on a single take.
The group recently collaborated with Ian Asher and Terry Zhong for their single "Moonlight." They also collaborated with Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap for the song "Ready."
They will also release a documentary film about their "PAGTATAG!" era on August 28 in Philippine cinemas. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
