Ely Buendia proves he's still on top of his game with new song 'Bulaklak Sa Buwan'
Ely Buendia just dropped a new song, "Bulaklak Sa Buwan," and it's yet another display of his songwriting brilliance.
With lyrics and music written by the OPM icon, the song explores positivity, of cultivating happiness from within.
"Nandito na naman ang mga alinlangan at labis na pangangamba (Here comes our doubts and worries), Buendia sings.
The following stanzas ask listeners to be cautious of those “naglalako ng pantasya (selling fantasies),”and that happiness is just around the corner: “Ang mga rosas ay nasa bakuran lang (The roses you’re looking for are in your own backyard)… Sinong nagsabi na may bulaklak sa buwan (So who says there are flowers on the moon)?”
'Method Adaptor'
“Bulaklak Sa Buwan” is the first single in Buendia's new 10-track solo album titled “Method Adaptor,” which will be released under Offshore Music on November 8 in various streaming platforms.
Buendia has a lot to offer as he revealed during his countdown livestream on Thursday night there were lots of new compositions that didn’t make it to the solo album. He said it was hard to trim the choices into 10.
“I’ve been writing. If I count the song that have been in the ‘baul’ (vault) for a long time [there have been a lot] and it took me years to write them but the majority of the songs in the new album, I wrote in three months this year. And it took, I think, two weeks to record the whole album.”
He said he made sure to finish the recording before this year’s US tour of the Eraserheads.
Buendia also described the music genre that “Method Adaptor” falls under as some kind of “alternative pop punk rock.”
“I think I’ve written a very, very good album,” he said.
Why Buendia chose “Bulaklak Sa Buwan” as the first single is because, he said, he simply likes the sound of it.
“It has a nice ring to it. It kind of describes me and the whole album,” he said. “I just think it’s more or less encapsulated what I think a first single should be. Fun, upbeat and relatable.”
He then invited his viewers to watch his upcoming solo concert, “Ely Buendia Live” on September 14 at Newport Performing Arts Theater in Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.
“That is where you’d probably hear me debut ‘Bulaklak Sa Buwan’ live. So do check me out there,” he said.
And just when fans have enough to look forward to, Buendia revealed the documentary “Combo On The Run,” which was directed, written and co-produced by Maria Diane Ventura, will be shown exclusively on Netflix before the end of the year. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
